Scattershot

Saturday was the kind of day when the light changes so fast that if you see a shot, you’d better grab it right now because in five seconds it’ll be different.

The detail in this scenery captivates me. Click on the picture to see it bigger, and check out the last of the green grass dusting the golden fields, the boulders strewn down the hillsides, the individual trees standing in the mist. The real thing was more magnificent.



I tied the steering wheel to the door handle and crawled into the back seat to rummage for something I’d left in the bottom of my travel bag. Got back into the driver’s seat before the road turned.

At Mojave, the airline industry’s ghost fleet sits mothballed, waiting until more people want to fly again.



I don’t know the name of this guy, but he scooted around fast on the ground rather than using his wings to take off to avoid a big two-legged intruder.
