The scene above is one I’ve been through several times before, on my way around Palos Verdes Peninsula.
But on this ride (June 1), instead of going all the way around, I took a shortcut back over the high part of the peninsula, on a road I hadn’t tried before. I wanted to check in on a friend who was campaigning somewhere near the top of the hill. The second picture here is looking back south (east) toward Portuguese Bend, at the same jutting peninsulas I’m used to seeing from the other side.
