Rise and Fall
"Nine at the new moon" is the nostrum: When the moon is full and when the moon is new, the high tides will be around nine in the morning and nine in the evening.
The full moon we had in South Carolina brought wonderful weather for the wedding I was going to. The nights weren't too cool; the days weren't too warm.
The weather was also perfect for traipsing around on beaches. But more about that another time.
